Between the cold and the epic snowstorms, February was not productive, but warmer weather is coming, and I’ve started on the footers for the house.

I am almost done with digging using the backhoe.

The far left section is decomposed granite just under the surface, so I will be using a big Hilti breaker to get deep enough in that area.

As you can see in the photo, I’m just finishing up digging the trench for the south wall.

Next comes working with a straight shovel to get the bottom of the trench clean and level and clear away the excess dirt around the edges.
